About steadyETF

Last updated October 19, 2026

We’re Suheyl and Anastasija, a married couple and the two people behind steadyETF. We built these calculators to plan our own investing, and we share them free for other beginners.

Our story

When Suheyl was younger, he tried the higher-risk side of investing: individual stocks, margin trading, algorithmic trading and crypto. Some of it worked and some didn’t, and it came with a lot of emotional ups and downs. Today we both work full-time jobs, and we wanted something simple we could add to every month and then get on with our lives.

Our families mostly invest in property. We wanted something we could add to steadily, in small amounts.

We’ve also moved countries for our careers, and we don’t know where we’ll settle. ETFs give us more control over our retirement without relying on any one country’s state benefits, and they’re far easier to take with us than property. That gives us confidence about the future, even when we don’t know where it will be.

When we set up our shared monthly budget, we found plenty of opinions and very little data. So Suheyl collected historical ETF prices to test different funds, monthly amounts and start dates. That became the first calculator on this site, and it gave us the confidence to start with a low-cost world ETF.

The biggest lesson so far is the simplest one: invest a regular amount, keep going and give it time. We’re still learning, and we’ll share what we find.

Suheyl

I work in product management and studied economics at Western Illinois University. I build and maintain our calculators and the data behind them, and I research and write our articles with Anastasija.

Anastasija

I work as a fund accountant. I have a bachelor’s in economics from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and a master’s in finance from EU Business School. I write articles with Suheyl and review everything we publish before it goes live.

How we work

Our calculators use real historical prices and dividends, and our Methodology page explains exactly how. In our articles, we also share our own experience: what worked for us and what confused us along the way. Everything here is education. We aren’t licensed financial advisors, and nothing on this site tells you to buy or sell a specific fund (see our Disclaimer). Our experience is one example, and your situation may be different.

The tools are free, and we don’t earn money from this site. If that changes, we’ll update this page and clearly label any links that pay us.
